Committees

Standards / Product Liability

The Standards / Product Liability Committee reviews and reports to the ALI membership on the activities of the A14 Committee.  This involves an update on the status of each standard, existing and new.  Members of the Standards / Product Liability Committee typically participate in Subcommittee work; their perspective may be from a technical background.  Since ALI is a voting member of the A14 Committee, the Standards/Product Liability committee is responsible to ensure that ALI’s vote on the A14 Committee is representative of the association’s position on A14 issues.

The Product Liability report involves sharing of activities and trends in the industry.  The goal is to ensure that members are informed and better equipped to react to activities that may impact their business.

Conference

The Conference Committee selects sites for the ALI’s two annual conferences, and determines speakers and educational content for the meetings. The Committee is focused on maximizing the networking opportunities of the conferences and return on investment for our educational sessions.

Education

The Education Committee is responsible for development & dissemination of ALI’s training material. Recently this Committee has been responsible for the creation of the new training website, Ladder Safety.org, which features ladder safety information in a user-friendly manner. Information is based on the content of the standards, in a less technical manner.

Material Supply

The Material Supply Committee is responsible for tracking and communicating current activity and trends for the materials involved in ladder production. Valuable information is shared among the members regarding availability and cost of materials, as well as current transportation trends.

Associates

The ALI Associates Committee is responsible for the discussion and review of those areas that are special interest to ALI Associate Members. These matters could include Manufacturer/Distributor interaction, maintenance of the associates capability handbook, and review of the Associates conference reception.

Outreach / Public Relations

The Outreach / Public Relations Committee is responsible for researching and determining public relations opportunities for ALI to feature training resources. All decisions will be based on the best use of financial resources.
