Chicago, January 10 The American Ladder Institute (ALI), in alignment with its mission to promote safe ladder use, will once again bring heightened awareness to this important topic during the third annual National Ladder Safety Month. Taking place February 24 - March 30, this month-long initiative focuses on sharing educational resources with homeowners and working professionals alike to prevent ladder-related injuries and accidents throughout the year.

"More than 137 ladder injuries occur every day," said Manny DeSantis, ALI member and President and CEO of Valley Fastener Group, LLC. "Our aim with National Ladder Safety Month is to drastically change this statistic through proper ladder safety training. Whether you're on a job site or tackling a project at home, having access to the appropriate resources can ostensibly thwart a negative outcome."

The awareness month focuses on five key themes:
  • February 24 - March 2: What is Ladder Safety?
  • March 3 - 9: Ladder Safety Training and Year-Round Partners
  • March 10 - 16: Ladder Safety at Work
  • March 17 - 23: Ladder Safety at Home
  • March 24 - 30: Ladder Inspection and Disposal
ALI has made participating in National Ladder Safety Month easy through their marketing guide. It details how to effectively share their potentially life-saving message. For example, there is a sample email you can send to a colleague or friend. Employees can also leverage the participation kit to share the details of National Ladder Safety Month with their supervisor.
